Mississippi Hometown Heroes Essay Contest 2010

Hometown Heroes Essay Contest

Be the first class to tour the new Mississippi Children's Museum! Your class can be a part of the invitation-only "Museum Unwrapping" ceremony at Mississippi's newest attraction by entering the Mississippi Hometown Heroes Essay Contest in the fall of 2010. The contest is sponsored by Mississippi Children's Museum Partners and is open to the 2010-2011 5th grade classes in the public schools that attended the Mississippi Children's Educational Fairs in 2008 and 2009.

The contest allows students to honor Mississippi's many "hometown heroes" - living heroes and mentors who inspire and influence children every day in their own community. One essay will be selected by the teacher to represent the class. The winning classroom will enjoy a free trip to the "Museum Unwrapping" (school-approved transportation provided), participate in the ceremony and be the first class to enter the Museum. The class will be special guests of the Mississippi Children's Museum Partners for lunch.
